About the event
In February 2015 the Police Federation voted for all frontline uniformed officers to be offered a taser to provide protection from terrorists. More than 400 children have had tasers drawn on them by police in England and Wales in 2013 and tasers were fired 37 times at 10 to 17-year-olds. The Home Office Taser database shows a 38 per cent increase on 2012 in the number of children who had a taser aimed at them.
The Centre is hosting this roundtable to discuss the existing evidence about the impact of the use of tasers in criminal justice practice and debate the implications. If you would like to attend please register. If you would like further information about this event please contact Will McMahon deputy director at the Centre.
A buffet lunch will be provided.
